Wasp & Hornet Nest Removal — Safely, Often the Same Day

Fast, safe removal of active nests in eaves, decks, and wall voids.

A wasp nest under the eaves or a hornet nest in a wall void can turn a backyard into a no-go zone, and disturbing one without the right protection is how people end up with dozens of stings. Check Pest Control removes active nests safely, treats the void so the colony dies off completely, and knocks down the old nest so wasps don’t simply rebuild in the same spot a few weeks later.

Seasonal note

Nests are small and easiest to treat in early summer but grow to thousands of workers by August and September, when yellowjackets become most aggressive. Don’t wait if you see steady traffic to one spot.

What’s Included

  • Safe removal of accessible nests (eaves, decks, sheds, trees)
  • Treatment of concealed nests in wall voids and soffits
  • Protective treatment to prevent rebuilding in the same location
  • Identification of wasps, yellowjackets, paper wasps, and bald-faced hornets
  • Same-day service available for active, high-traffic nests
  • Advice on sealing soffit and fascia gaps that invite nesting

Our Process

  1. 1

    Locate

We pinpoint the nest and the flight path — many “wall” nests are actually entering through a small gap in the soffit or siding.

  2. 2

    Treat

The nest and void are treated so returning foragers carry product inside and the whole colony is eliminated.

  3. 3

    Remove

Accessible nests are physically removed; concealed nests are left to die off, then the entry is treated.

  4. 4

    Prevent

We recommend sealing the soffit, fascia, or deck gaps that made the spot attractive so it doesn’t happen again next summer.

Wasp & Hornet Removal — FAQs

Can you remove a wasp nest the same day?
In most cases, yes — active nests near doors, decks, and play areas are treated as a priority and we offer same-day or next-day service across Barrie and Innisfil. For nests inside walls or soffits we may schedule a return to remove the entry point once the colony has died off, but the stinging risk is handled on the first visit.
Why shouldn’t I just spray the nest myself?
Store-bought sprays often agitate the colony before killing it, and wasps will defend the nest aggressively — bald-faced hornets in particular. Concealed nests in walls are the most dangerous to treat yourself, because spraying the visible opening can drive the colony into your living space. Licensed technicians have the protective equipment and the right products to do it without putting you at risk.
What’s the difference between wasps and hornets here?
In central Ontario the common stingers are paper wasps (open umbrella-shaped nests under eaves), yellowjackets (often nesting in the ground or wall voids and very aggressive in late summer), and bald-faced hornets (large grey football-shaped aerial nests). Each behaves differently, so identifying the species determines how we approach removal safely.
Will the wasps come back after the nest is removed?
Wasps don’t reuse an old nest, but they are drawn to the same sheltered spots year after year. That’s why we treat the location after removal and recommend sealing the gaps in soffits, fascia, and decks that make it attractive. If a new nest forms in the same season, the Zero Pest Guarantee covers a return visit.
